And enjoying this month! It has been a different kind of winter here at the farm, not a lot of snow but still much to do here.

We have been mixing work with play!

Working on getting the olde kitchen finished up, more painting to do... we are loving the cook stove. Still wondering where I'm going to put everything...

Otto turns 1 year old... And is still growing in so many ways!

My bird watching.... I take way to many photos of these guys but so enjoy it.


New Hampshire isn't to far from here......

And so many beautiful views.....

Our New Olde Book

On a rainy day we recently visited an antique shop and purchased this wonderful book to add to our collection here at the farm, for when you visit, you may wish to pull up a rocker, grab a hot cup of coffee and sit next to the cook stove and read as we did.

It is called “Vermont Its Resources and Opportunities” published in 1916 written by Walter H. Crockett and is about agricultural and industrial endeavors taking place. Pioneer Ira Allen helped in the development of Vermont's “Green Mountain States” resources.

One of our favorite chapters is “Vermont's Attractions” a little snippet of the chapter reads:

“There is no better place in all the world for the tired brain and the weary body to find rest than in the Green Mountains, where the silence is grateful to the ear, where the odors of the woodland are refreshing and where the eye may delight itself with the far stretching mountain verdure that clothes the mountain slopes as with a garment, with the golden glories of the sunrise and the sunset, with the purple lights upon the hills, with the ever changing cloud effects and with noble and extensive prospects of lofty mountain peaks, of lakes and rivers, of fields and forests spread out like a great map, painted in living colors by the Master Artist.”
